Why did I stop using mascara? – An alternative to lash mascara

Using mascara – for me – is essential. Without painted lashes, I simply feel naked. However, my eyes fitted with contact lenses don’t feel good with mascara on. It even leaves visible “smudges” on my glasses. Finding a way out of this whole mess seems quite simple though. Everyone is talking about permanent eyelash extensions . So far, however, it sounds like some kind of magic spell that will let me take a break from red eyes and smudged mascara. I’ve also heard that the treatment takes a very long time – but what’s it really like?

During an out-of-town event, I was supposed to look fantastic. I booked an appointment at the Noble Lashes beauty salon , known for its eyelash extensions. Everything was lovely, fragrant, and brand new. The room was cozy and spotless, and while having my lashes done, I lay on a bed covered with a warm, soft blanket.

Now things got serious. The lash stylist, dressed in a crisp white apron , explained what we were going to do. First, she would apply pads to the lower lashes to prevent them from sticking while she attached the upper ones. And that’s exactly what she did. She adjusted the pad several times to ensure a perfect fit. The treatment takes 1.5 hours – phew… I closed my eyes and listened to what the stylist was saying. Since I wasn’t wearing contact lenses and had no mascara on, after cleansing the eye area again, the stylist applied a product called Cleaner.

– Lashes need to be degreased first, that way the glue holds better, next we’ll apply Primer , which will further increase the lash adhesion – the stylist said.

From among lashes in various shapes, three different thicknesses, and many lengths, she chose lashes that would ensure the final look would be natural but still noticeable . My new lashes would be the so-called MINK SMART lashes . They are very lightweight, flexible, and look incredibly natural .

 

Treatment at Noble Lashes – Your Time to Relax

Using a pair of tweezers, each false lash is dipped in a special glue and attached to a natural lash. The stylist alternates between the right and left eye, and uses a second pair of tweezers to separate my natural lashes.

– We’ll gradually fill every gap with lashes, I hear – it’ll be beautiful. I sure hope so – I think. Since the treatment is painless, I start feeling drowsy. I feel comfortable – I’ve calmed down and I’m relaxing.

Time flies, I’m completely relaxed and increasingly curious to see how I’ll look. It feels like I now have an infinite number of lashes. No wonder – on one eye, we apply around 100 lashes, sometimes more, sometimes less – says the stylist from Noble Lashes.

What Are the Results of Eyelash Extensions at Noble Lashes?

Finally, the moment comes when I can open my eyes. I open them and what do I feel – nothing! Did it go that smoothly? Strange, I don’t feel the weight of those 200 lashes – are they even there? I look in the mirror and… My lashes are now truly long and full, yet feather-light. I’m truly impressed by the length and curl of the lashes on the outer corners of my eyes – they beautifully enhance my slightly almond-shaped eyes. Still, the effect is very natural.

How to Take Care of False Eyelashes?

I received some tips on how to care for my lashes from my stylist. I also got beautifully printed instructions , just in case I forgot everything out of excitement.

The idea is to enjoy my long, lovely lashes for as long as possible. Mascara is a taboo subject – unless I use a special mascara for extended lashes, which I can find in the store, but honestly, why bother? These lashes are amazing. And I definitely don’t need to use a lash curler.

Makeup Removal with Lash Extensions

– When removing makeup, you need to avoid the lashes and stay away from oily milks or makeup removers, as they can dissolve the glue. Additionally, do not wet your lashes for 48 hours so that the glue can fully cure – I was told.

I have no idea how I’ll manage this under the shower tomorrow morning, but I’ll figure it out. Now it’s finally time to admire my eyes – they’re beautiful, I might just stand in front of the mirror for a bit longer. From now on, I’ll try to keep my lashes intact for as long as possible – they’ve brought that sparkle back to my eyes. I’m absolutely enchanted.

Lash Extensions in Everyday Life

I’m slowly getting used to my new look. I don’t use mascara – because I don’t need to. My eyes look much bigger. I’m happy I did something like this for myself. Right after waking up, I’m basically ready to go – of course, I still need to freshen up “a bit,” but that’s normal. I made a splash in my circle, and I’m really proud of that. Many people seem surprised at how nice I look. They look at me – or rather, at my lashes. I see the question in their eyes: “Are they real?” Ha! Let them wonder.

When it comes to bathing, I was very careful at first – in the shower – not to soak the lashes. Now it’s perfect: showers, swimming, jogging – nothing harms my “favorites.”

How Long Do False Eyelashes Last?

While my lovely lashes were doing great for two weeks , during the third week I lost a few. They’re quite noticeable because they’re larger and darker than my natural lashes . This is a natural process. Lashes have a life cycle of 60 to 90 days , after which they fall out and new lashes grow in. After four weeks, I no longer have such a full fan of lashes – it still looks beautiful, but maybe in a week or two I’ll need a refill.

Another week goes by, and now there’s chaos on my eyelids, spelling out Morse code: short-short-long-short-long-long-short-short-short – my lashes are sending an SOS. Now I have to decide – remove them or get a refill.

"Art is beautiful, but it takes a lot of work", said the famous German comedian Karl Valentin. This quote perfectly sums up my conclusion about lash extensions. They simply look fantastic and natural, and no mascara in the world can do what lash extensions do – create such thick, dark, and curled lashes. But in return, you must treat them with care to enjoy them as long as possible.

If you’ve decided to go for false lashes for the long term, you shouldn’t book your appointment at the wrong place. Pay special attention to certified trained lash stylists who work with great care and can create a natural-looking eye.
