Risks and benefits of eyelash extensions: What to expect
At Noble Lashes we know the ins and outs, ups and downs and lengths and curls of eyelashes. We live and breathe them and have managed to build a reputation in the industry across the whole of Europe! So we know what we’re talking about. Today we will be taking you through the risks vs benefits of eyelash extensions, and what to expect during treatment.
The Process
First up, the treatment. The treatment process can be quite extensive and look intimidating to the untrained eye, so let's talk you through it so that you know exactly what to expect, helping you to decide either way:
- Evaluation
Your stylist should speak with you and explain pros and cons of artificial eyelashes, they should also ask if you have any concerns you have about the treatment, or any relevant conditions or allergies you may have that they should be aware of.
- Selection
You will then discuss with your stylist your ideal lash. At this point if you have a photo of what you are looking for now is the time to show them, your stylist should advise you on the best lashes they have in stock to suit your needs—make sure you are completely happy with your selection!
- Cleaning
You will lie on your back on the stylist’s bed, make sure you are in a comfy position (comfortable clothing is a big benefit here!) as you will be lying down for an hour and a half at least. Your stylists will cleanse your eye area ready for treatment. It is helpful if you have turned up makeup free for your appointment.
- Preparation
Your stylist will then ask you to close your eyes, press your lower lashes down with a pad and secure with medical tape. This helps your stylist to improve your treatment by keeping your lower lashes back.
- Treatment
Then comes the part of the actual treatment! Once the prep is done the stylist can begin the process of gluing your new lashes to your current ones. This process isn’t painful, but as your stylist will be doing delicate treatments around your eyes with tweezers, it is important to keep your eyes closed.
- Checking and Drying
After the treatment, the stylist checks the entire application for plywood or undesirable effects.
- Removal of Prep Work
Finally, your stylist will gently remove the tapes and gel pads around your eyes that were fastening your lower lashes. It is important for you to let your technician know if you are experiencing any sensitivity in these areas so that they can tailor their removal accordingly. Once removed, slowly open your eyes, blink a few times, and then rush to the mirror to see their handiwork!
Cons
Artificial eyelashes can be expensive, and it’s important to know this. If you’re trying to save money by going to someone who is too cheap, you run the risk of visiting a technician who is not fully qualified. We will advise more on this later. You need to know that treatments and top ups will have to be made fairly frequently and can begin to stretch the purse unless you’re prepared.
Your eyelashes are always at different stages of growth, meaning some are coming through fresh and new whilst some will be waiting to be shed, along with your artificial lashes! You can combat unevenness by booking top up appointments at your salon.
Finally, as with any aesthetic beauty treatment, you run the risk of infections or irritation. Your eyes can be irritated by some of the chemicals used during treatments, and some of the friction from the glues. Try to find a highly rated or trusted salon with stringent cleaning methods for their equipment to lower the risk of infections.
Pros
The pros of artificial eyelash extensions are extensive and far outweigh the chances of any cons. Especially with the use of Noble Lashes, they can drastically enhance your look, bringing more drama to your eyes with longer length and thicker thickness. Artificial eyelashes are completely customisable—with so many variations in style you can pretty much guarantee your dream eyelashes already exist.
Removing the steps of applying mascara or false eyelash strips from your routines won't just save you time, they will also save you the stress of early morning lash application or late-night mascara removal. Instead just sit back, relax, and let someone else do the work for you while you get to reap the benefits.
Noble’s Artificial Lashes are ergonomically designed, which means they are manufactured with the best materials in mind to help create a weightless and comfortable feel on your eyelid.
Treatment appointments for eyelash extensions are extremely pampering. The above stages of treatments will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Two hours to lie back in bed, eyes closed being doted upon, what’s not to love! It’s essential to take time out of any busy schedule for self-care, and an eyelash appointment is no different.
In Conclusion
Whatever you decide to do with your eye lashes, you’re in the best hands with Noble Lashes. Our eyelash extensions are incredibly robust and with the correct application from a professional technician they can last weeks or months at a time. They give you beautifully effortless and seamless day after day.
