How to properly store lash glue?
Store your glue in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and humidity. The ideal solution is a vacuum container or a moisture-absorbing thermal pouch. Always keep the bottle upright to avoid flooding the nozzle. After each use, tighten the cap securely, and during work, you can temporarily seal the nozzle with a special pin.
Why does lash glue thicken faster than usual?
Rapid thickening of lash glue is most often caused by improper storage or prolonged exposure to air. Always keep the glue tightly closed. Avoid leaving the bottle open — moisture and high temperature accelerate polymerization, causing the glue to lose its properties.
How to clean the neck of the lash glue bottle?
Use only lint-free wipes that do not react with the glue, absorb liquids effectively, and do not leave fibers on the nozzle. After each use, wipe the neck of the bottle and then close it tightly.
How long does lash glue stay fresh?
Unopened lash glue retains its properties for 6–10 months, while once opened, it should be used within 2–3 months. The more frequently you open the bottle, the faster the glue loses its quality — exposure to air and humidity speeds up polymerization. Dispense the glue drop quickly and always close the bottle immediately after use.
Lash Tip: After opening a new bottle, write the opening date on it — you can use a small sticker or piece of tape. This makes it easier to monitor how long you’ve been using the glue and know when it’s time to replace it.
How to recognize expired lash glue?
- Consistency: the glue has become thicker, lumpy, or separated, is hard to squeeze out of the bottle, or conversely – too thin and watery. A common sign is also a stringy, “sticky thread-like” texture when picking up glue or pulling the lash from the drop.
- Color: instead of a uniform deep black, the glue drop looks grayish, transparent, or shows uneven shades of gray.
- Smell: an unpleasant, sharp, chemical odor appears that wasn’t there before.
- Application: the glue doesn’t bond lashes properly — application becomes harder, retention is weak, and the glue dries either too slowly or too fast.
If you notice any of these signs, don’t take risks — replace the glue with a new one. Using expired or oxidized glue can not only worsen lash retention but also affect the quality and safety of your styling.
