Lower Lash Extensions
Almost everyone has heard about eyelash extension treatments. Unfortunately, most people assume this applies only to upper lashes, forgetting that lower lashes can also be extended.
Why bother? One reason is that it helps your lashes appear fuller and more beautiful. Many women overlook this, opting instead to simply apply mascara. But there's much more that can be done with lower lashes. We'll explain how in the article below.
Lower Lash Extensions – Why and What For?
The most obvious answer to this question has already been mentioned. However, beauty isn’t the only benefit of this treatment.
The first and significant advantage is the economic and marketing value. Offering lower lash extensions adds variety to your salon services and will undoubtedly attract more clients.
Lower lash extensions also save time. A woman who opts for this treatment no longer needs to focus on applying mascara to her lower lashes, which shortens her daily beauty routine.
Procedure Steps
Lower lash extensions are a relatively short procedure and take between 30 to a maximum of 60 minutes. Regardless of the duration, the process includes the following steps:
1. Attaching protective eye pads directly under the lower lashes. These protect the lower eyelid skin from the products used during the procedure.
2. If the upper lashes have already been extended, they are gently taped with a special paper tape and secured to the forehead. This protects them from being damaged. The client’s eyes must always remain closed during this step!
3. The next step involves cleansing the lower lashes of oils and selecting the appropriate curl and length for the extensions. Typically, B or C curls are used with thicknesses of 0.07, 0.10, or 0.12 mm and lengths between 3–7 mm.
4. A drop of adhesive is applied to a special pad, then the lash is selected and its base is dipped into the glue.
5. The synthetic lash is placed onto the natural lash (which has been isolated using tweezers), approximately half a millimeter from the lash line.
It’s crucial not to forget about protecting the skin from glue exposure. That’s why proper placement of the protective tape under the lower eyelids is so important.
